OzPaddle Caloundra offers a unique cross-training experience in the tranquil surrounds of Currimundi Lake.

Situated in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, OzPaddle Caloundra offer Kayak Group Fitness Training sessions to suit all ages and all levels of fitness and ability.

A kayaking session will leave you feeling invigorated and it is a great way to build core strength, cardiovascular fitness and muscle. Health and fun, what more could you want? It will give locals the opportunity to meet like-minded, new and interesting people, and get sightseeing tourists up close and personal to the water and the wildlife on our beautiful sunshine coast.

Kayak group fitness training is a true team experience conducted on  - the perfect reward for your team and an ideal environment to identify leadership and develop teamwork in a new dynamic.  Sessions can be tailored to the needs of the group in order to achieve the desired environment and experience.

Session structures

Fitness

Sessions comprise a variety of land and water-based individual and team activities that ensure that you receive an all-over-body workout. Our sessions are instructed by qualified staff and typically include a warmup routine, interval training, short runs and yoga-style stretching. Beginners are welcome!

Health & Wellbeing

What better way is there to enjoy the beauty of the sunshine coast and improve your fitness. We paddle at steady pace whilst enjoying our surroundings also incorporating some gentle yoga-stretching to improve your flexiblity.

Mums N' Bubs

We take mums and their little ones out for a leisurely paddle . Paddling is a great way to improve your core strength as it strengthens your pelvic floor (the group of muscles and ligaments that surpport the uterus, bladder and bowel), which is good practise for both birth and recovery. It is fun for both Mother and child and gets you out of the house and on the water.

Twilight Paddles / We always kayak on the Wednesday night closest to the Full Moon. The evenings on the lake start at 5.45pm. We leave from Crummunda Park on the North side of the lake. We watch the sunset and paddle in the peace and quiet, it is absolutely beautiful. A coffee van comes along and provides us with a coffee/Tea or Hot chocolate(extra charges apply) which is a great end to the night.

Cost is $15 p/person 1hr, kayak/paddle and life jacket provided (some of our Kayaks even glow in the dark!)

Bring you own head torch and glowsticks for the fun of it.

A veteran Australian surfcraft designer and paddler, Jim has a degree in Human Movement and has written theses on hydrodynamics and evolution of surfcraft. Jim is responsible for the cutting edge design of OzPaddle's surfcraft range and shares his time between developing and testing new craft and leading our kayak group fitness training sessions at Currimundi Lake.
